Shenandoah Valley Airport Announces New Regional Jet Service To Charlotte, NC and Orlando, FL
Fares starting at $44* each way to Charlotte and $99* each way to Orlando.

Weyers Cave, Virginia – October 31, 2016 – The Shenandoah Valley Regional Airport (SHD) Commission announced today a new partnership with ViaAir offering new daily nonstop service to Charlotte, North Carolina (CLT) and one-stop service to Orlando/Sanford, Florida (SFB). Both routes will be operated utilizing a 50-seat Embraer ERJ 145 regional jet. This is the first time the Shenandoah Valley has had a partner airline offering daily commercial flights with a jet aircraft. This new service will replace the current air carrier at the Shenandoah Valley Regional Airport, Silver Airways.

ViaAir will operate 12 weekly departures/arrivals to Charlotte beginning November 30, 2016 with promotional fares starting at $44* each way between the cities. Ranked 5th nationwide in operations, the Charlotte hub has approximately 710 daily departures serving 155 nonstop destinations. Arrivals and departures will operate from the centrally located “A” concourse of Charlotte Airport.

“We are very pleased with this change in hub and the dramatic increase in connecting opportunities it will give our community” said Greg Campbell, Shenandoah Valley Airport’s Executive Director. “ViaAir’s combination of great fares, 98% on-time performance record and overwhelmingly positive customer satisfaction ratings make our new service a very attractive option for business and leisure travel.”

Following is the schedule for ViaAir’s Charlotte service (beginning Nov. 30, 2016):

Departs SHD 8:15 a.m., Arrives CLT 9:11 a.m. (Mon-Fri)
Departs SHD 11:52 a.m, Arrives CLT 12:48 p.m. (Daily)

Flights to Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB) from Shenandoah Valley Regional Airport are scheduled to begin December 11, 2016 at an introductory fare of $99* each way. This rate also includes one piece of checked luggage (up to 30 lbs.).** Passengers booked to Orlando will depart on the same aircraft as those booked to Charlotte and will remain on the aircraft for a short period while Charlotte passengers deplane and additional Orlando passengers board. The process will be reversed on the trip from Orlando to Shenandoah with passengers still never needing to change planes.

“Orlando has consistently been the most requested destination from SHD by our passengers. This popularity, combined with Via’s low-fares and the ability to continue to Orlando without the need to connect to another flight in Charlotte, means these flights should be really well received by our community” said Campbell.

Following is the schedule for ViaAir’s Orlando service:

Shenandoah – Orlando (beginning Dec. 11, 2016, operating Sun/Wed)

Departs SHD 11:52 a.m., Arrives SFB 2:51 p.m.
Departs SFB 3:36 p.m., Arrives SHD 6:35 p.m.

Passengers departing from Shenandoah Valley Regional Airport will still enjoy the same exceptional customer service and convenience they’ve come to expect from their local Airport. The Airport’s modern, recently renovated airline terminal offers SHD passengers the same amenities available at larger airports with competitive pricing and shorter lines, plus the cost and time savings of not having to drive several hours to a larger airport.

Flights to both destinations can be booked by visiting or by calling a Fare Specialist at the Shenandoah Valley Airport at (540) 234-8304.
